Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh presiding over a meeting with the representatives of Ola and Uber regarding to sort out the issues

Chandigarh, 4th February 2020: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh to sort out the issues of Ola and Uber. During the meeting, he clarified that the pending government revenue has to be paid.  He also stated that since the entry fee of UT, Chandigarh is only Rs.333/- per month which is much cheaper than the neighbouring states, there should be no reason for the default.  However, as a special case, it was decided that all stakeholders may be allowed to make payment of first two quarters of current financial year by 15/02/2020; while the remaining needs to be cleared by 31st March, 2020, after which a special drive will be started by the Transport and Traffic Department to penalize the defaulters for non-payment.  He also advised the agencies to promote green vehicles, so that Chandigarh remains a green capital of the country.

Budget 2020-21 for Chandigarh 

Chandigarh.1st February,2020.​​The Budget for the financial year 2020-21 has been Presented and Published by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi on their website i.e. https://www.indiabudget.gov.in/doc/eb/sbe50.pdf as per detail given below:-   ​​Budget Estimates 2020-21 of Rs. 5138.10 Cr. (Revenue Rs. 4643.96 Cr. + Capital Rs. 494.14 Cr.)   as compared to the Budget Estimates 2019-20 of Rs. 4753.12 Cr. (Revenue Rs. 4351.49 Cr. + Capital Rs. 401.63 Cr.) has been presented for Union Territory, Chandigarh, thereby making an increase of Rs. 384.98 Cr.   (i.e. 8.09%). The major distribution to various sectors are -   Police Rs. 561.36 Cr., Education Rs. 843.73 Cr., Housing and Urban Development Rs. 963.47 Cr., Transport Rs. 294.96 Cr., Energy Rs. 962.75 Cr., Health Rs. 522.00 Cr. and others Rs. 989.83 Cr.
