Greening Chandigarh 'Action Plan 2021-22' and Short Film on Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary, Chandigarh on the eve of "World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought" released by Hon'ble Governor of Punjab & the Administrator, UT Chd

Chandigarh.17th June,2021: Sh.V.P. Singh Badnore, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab & the Administrator, UT Chandigarh today released the Greening Chandigarh Action Plan 2021-22’ prepared by the Department of Forest & Wildlife, Chandigarh, in Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh. This Plan has envisaged 1,75,000 saplings to be planted during 2021-22. The target of plantation assigned to Forest Department is 75,000 saplings and Horticulture Wing of Engineering Department is 40,000 saplings and Municipal Corporation is 60,000 saplings, along with the targets of free distribution of saplings to the general public in the city. The booklet is available on the departments website i.e. http://chandigarhforest.gov.in/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/GCAP-2021-22.pdf . Social Security Pension

Chandigarh.16th June,2021: The Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration is implementing the Social Security Pension Schemes viz. Old Age Pension, Financial Assistance to Widows and Destitute Women, Pension to Disabled Persons and Pension to Dependent Children of Widows. The payment under the schemes is being disbursed on monthly basis in Aadhaar seeded bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The Department disbursed the pension amounting to Rs. 312.93 lacs to 28848 beneficiaries under various Pension Schemes in the month of May, 2021. District Level Committee meeting in connection with the approval/recommendation of loan applications received from the applicants under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme

Chandigarh.16th June,2021:A District Level Committee meeting held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson Sh.Mandip Singh Brar,IAS, today in connection with the approval/recommendation of loan applications received from the applicants under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. Sh. Jagjit Singh, PCS, Director Industries, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh. Hari Singh Gumra, Lead District Manager, Punjab National Bank, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh. Prashant Baloda, Representative of NABARD, and Smt. Ramnik Kaur, Representative of NULM, U.T., Chandigarh were also present. Out of 9 loan applications, the committee approved 5 (five) applications which are further forwarded to the lending institutions for the grant of loan. World Blood Donor Day celebrated at Govt. Multispeciality Hospital, Sector 16

Chandigarh.14th June,2021: World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on 14th June to thank Voluntary non remunerated blood donors for their life saving gift of Blood. The theme of this year’s compagin is “Give blood and keep the world beating." Dr. Amandeep Kang, Director Health Services & Family Welfare, U.T Chandigarh inaugurated the World Blood Donor Day Function in the auditorium of GMSH 16. Camp Organizers who have been organizing Blood Donation Camps during the ongoing Covid pandemic for GMSH 16 Blood Bank were honoured with an appreciation certificate. The efforts of these organizers during the lockdown were lauded. Their efforts helped the blood bank to maintain stocks of blood so that the needy patients could be transfused blood.
