ORDER

In exercise of the powers conferred under ‘The Chandigarh Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 dated 13.03.2020 notified under Epidemic Disease Act 1897, only sick and patients requiring emergency care may visit the hospitals for treatment at Govt Multi Speciality Hospital Sector 16, Civil Hospital Manimajra, Civil Hospital Sector 45 and Civil Hospital Sector 22. All other patients with mild illness which required outpatient care/Follow up care/elective cases including dental patients should not visit the hospitals till 31 st March 2020 to prevent  crowding and to check the spread at COVID-19.

In exercise of the powers conferred under ‘The Chandigarh Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 dated 13.03.2020 notified under Epidemic Disease Act 1897, OPD of Dermatology Department (Skin), Orthopaedics, Surgery, Eye, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry, Dental and evening OPD will remain closed to Prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, in public interest till 31 st March 2020. The Emergency services /Trauma unit and OPD of Obst. & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Medicine and Emergency will continue to work.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section 3 of Section 13 of the Punjab Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1924, as in force in the Union territory of Chandigarh as amended from time to time read with Notification No. G.S.R. 366(E), dated 15.06.2006 of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, in view of communication of F. No RT- 23018 (24)2019-T dated 17.07.2019 of Govt. of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, New Delhi, and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator,   Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to exempt Road Tax on Battery Operated Vehicles on all categories in Union Territory, Chandigarh to promote national or public interest for period of three years i.e. from 18.03.2020 to 17.03.2023, subject to its review after every three years.

The Adviser to the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to extend the term of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and General Counsel of the following Akademise, till further order, as per provisions contained in the Constitutions of the Akademise, on the exiting terms and conditions: - 11.     Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi 22.     Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi With regard to Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, the Secretary Culture, Chandigarh Administration will function as Chairman with immediate effect till further orders. The term of the Vice Chairman and General Council of Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi is extended till further orders, on the existing terms and conditions.

Keeping in view the spread of Corona Virus COVID-19), in the interest of health and safety of children enrolled in creches of U.T. Chandigarh as a precautionary measure, ICCW has decided as follows:- 11.     All the Creches functioning in Union Territory of Chandigarh shall remain closed with immediate effect till 31.03.2020. 22.     However, all the Balsevikas and Helpers will attend the creches to carry out cleaning and             sanitizing work at the creches till further orders. 33.     Parents are advised to instruct their wards to avoid attending any large gathering/crowds during this period and follow the advisory/instructions/guidelines issued from time to time by the Ministry of Health Govt. of India/Local Health Department.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 2A, of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 to 1955), the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) Vide notification No. SO 1087 (E) dated 13 th March, 2020, issued notification to regulate the production, quality, distribution, logistics of masks ( 2ply & 3ply surgical masks, N95 masks) & hand sanitizers (for COVID 19 management) by adding he said item’s in the schedule after serial no. DC convenes meeting of religious heads to spread awareness

Chandigarh, 17th March 2020:In order to tackle the menace of Corona Virus, the Deputy Commissioner, UT Chandigarh Sh. Mandip Singh Brar,IAS today convened a meeting of all the religious heads belonging to the different communities and exhorted them to sensitize the people about keeping precautions. The DC further requested the religious leaders to desist from holding gatherings in excess of 100 people till March 31st and keep the sanitizers at the entry points of their respective religious places for ensuring the protection of the devotees. Demolition drive in colony no. 4 on 23rd March, 2020

Chandigarh, 16th March,2020 :The Deputy Commissioner, UT Chandigarh Mr. Mandip Singh Brar,IAS here today presided over a high level meeting with regard to the demolition drive to be carried out in the colony no. 4. The DC reviewed the preparations by different departments and directed the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), Estate Office and the police to be ready for the demolition drive on 23 March 2020. Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included the SSP Nilambari Jagdale, Assistant Estate Officer Manish Lohan, Dr. Abdul Qayum, DCF, Department of Forests & Wildlife UT Administration Chandigarh , ADC Sachin Rana, SDM’s of the respective areas and other officials of the concerned departments.

UT Administration take further steps to tackle corona virus

Chandigarh, 16th March 2020: The   UT Administrator and the Governor of Punjab    Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore today held a meeting with the Adviser Sh. Manoj Parida,IAS and the top brass of the UT Administration and discussed wide ranging issues. The most significant issue that came up for discussion was ways to address the situation in the wake of Corona Virus disease. It was decided that the gathering of more than 100 people would be banned. Further, the Cinema Halls, Gymnasiums Swimming Pools,   Pubs ,Spa Centres, Video Gaming Centres, Shopping Malls   and Coaching Centers in the UT Chandigarh will be closed till March 31. However, the closure won’t apply to groceries and the medicine shops in order to enable the people to meet their essential needs. Chandigarh.14 th March,2020: Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) is India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Launched in March 2018, the programme, through use of technology, real-time monitoring, a targeted approach, and convergence, strives to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, anemia and low birth weight in children, as also, focus on adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers, thus holistically addressing malnutrition. Chandigarh. 13 th   March,2020 : The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore held the meeting with the Health Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory, Chandigarh along with Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Dr. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER, Dr. B.S.
