Launch of Block A of Le Corbusier Centre

Chandigarh, 17th April 2018 : Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh today inaugurated the Block A of the Le Corbusier Centre and also launched the Open Hand Art Studios in a part of the restored building.  Present on the occasion were the Advisor to the Administrator, Sh Parimal Rai,  Home Secretary, Sh Anurag Agarwal, Director Tourism, Sh Jitendar Yadav,  Chief Architect Sh Kapil Setia, and other leading artist and architects of the city. As a part of events planned to commemorate the Birth anniversary of Pierre Jeanneret an installation workshop on the theme based on an article by Jeanneret “Aesthetic: reflections on beauty of line, shape and form” was also thrown open to the public. 410th meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board

Chandigarh, 17th April 2018 : The 410th meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board was held on 17.4.2018. The following is a gist of the major decisions  taken by the Board:- 1. Need Based Changes in Chandigarh Housing Board Dwelling Units  The Board has accorded approval to constitute a committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary, CHB to recommend  the need based changes that can be allowed in CHB Dwelling Units within 21 days from the date of its constitution. A monitoring committee was also set up to review the functioning of above mentioned committee. It was also decided that appeal against cancellation of allotment before  the Board be kept pending till report of Need Based changes committee is finalized.   2. Chandigarh, 15 th April 2018: Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, Directorate of Technical Education Department successfully conducted India Skills Chandigarh 2018 Competition in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation under World Skill Competition, 2019 in 21 Skill Trades from 6 th April to 13 th April at CCET (Degree Wing), CCET (Diploma Wing), GITIW, Indo Swiss Training Centre, CIHM, AIHM, Govt. School of Wheels

Chandigarh, 14th April, 2018: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T Chandigarh Sh. VP Singh Badnore, today flagged of the School of Wheels on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti in the presence of Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Rajiv Gupta, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration.  Indian red Cross Society, Chandigarh has customized one of its vehicles into Mobile School for underprivileged children which will be equipped with books, educational toys and study material. This unit will work in collaboration with Chandigarh Child Protection Society.
