Cancellation of Notification

Chandigarh, 6 th Dec, 2016: The Chandigarh Administration, Finance Department’s Notification bearing No. 41/8/308-UTFI(5)-2016/9928-9931, dated 26.10.2016 published in Chandigarh Administration Gazette (extra ordinary) dated 26.10.2016 regarding the release of acquired land measuring one acre comprising Khasra No. 60//38,39/1 & 71//27 min situated in the Revenue Estate, Manimajra, U.T., Chandigarh is hereby cancelled.

Chandigarh, 5 th Dec, 2016: 0 case of Dengue have been reported (till the release of press note) and the total number of Dengue cases remained 877 in the city. Today 5 case of Chikungunya have been reported which was from Chandigarh. The overall details of 299 cases of Chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 46 imported, 55 wrong address and 198 from Chandigarh. To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. 

Nominations for National Award

Chandigarh, 5 th Dec, 2016: The   Government of  India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi has invited nominations for National Award from amongst the Individual Human Rights Activists/NOGs who have done outstanding fieldwork in the area of eradicating untouchability and  in combating offences of atrocities under the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 and Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989. The Code of Procedure for regulating the award and the application form are available on the Ministry’s website i.e.www.socialjustice.nic.in The interested Individuals/NGOs can apply within 7 days from the date of Press Note.

Today 3 case of Chikungunya have been reported which was from Chandigarh. Chandigarh Administration facilitates cashless modes of transactions, in addition to the existing mode of cash and cashless transactions

Chandigarh, 3 rd December, 2016: Chandigarh Administration and other Government organizations including Chandigarh Housing Board are making all efforts to reduce overall reliance on cash based transactions and help switch over to Digital payment modes, and promote e-transactions. With this aim and to achieve the basic objective of transparency in monetary transactions, the various Government departments, CHB and other organizations are introducing or have already introduced Point of Sale(POS)/swipe machines at its dues/charges reception counters, as well as at the other collection centres for Government dues.   It is also reiterated that CHB payments from allottees/occupants/citizens shall continue to be accepted in cash as per the past practice. Allottees/occupants/citizens are also free to make their deposits in any of the various e-sampark centres in Chandigarh. Minimum rates of wages fixed by the Labour Department

Chandigarh, 2 nd Dec, 2016: The half yearly Cost of Living Index Numbers of Chandigarh Centre (Base 2001 = 100) for industrial workers, issued by Labour Department U.T Chandigarh   for the months of April, 2016, to September, 2016 are 1399.16, 1414.94, 1414.94, 1430.72, 1430.72 and 1430.72 respectively.  Thus the average (calculated for six months) cost of living index numbers as on 30.09.2016 is 1420. The previous average cost of living index numbers was 1373 points for the quarter ending 31.03.2016. Therefore, increase in average cost of living index number is 47 points.
