3rd Anniversary celebrations of Swachh Bharat Mission

Chandigarh, 15 th September, 2017: On the occasion of the launch of the 3 rd Anniversary celebrations of Swachh Bharat Mission, a function was held today under the supervision of Mrs. Radhika Singh, HCS, Director Rural Development & Panchayat in village Behlana, U.T, Chandigarh which was attended by Chairperson Zila Parishad, Chairman Panchayat Samiti, Members of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, Members of Gram Panchayats Behlana and Raipur Khurd and officials of the Department of Rural Dev. & Panchayat, local residents, students etc. In line with the theme “Swachhta Hi Sewa”, all those present took an oath on Swachh Bharat Mission. The Director Rural Dev. & Panchayat while addressing the gathering laid stress on the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission and advised to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Govt. of India on the issue from time to time.  This was followed by a cleanliness drive to clean the village area in which everyone participated.

Celebration of ‘World Ozone Day’

Chandigarh, 15 th September, 2017: Department of Environment & Forests, Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Environmental NGO – Youth Innovative Society celebrated ‘ World Ozone Day’ on 15 th September, 2017 by organizing a  Painting Competition on the theme of the day by  school students of various Schools i.e. Government Model High School, Sector-32  and St. Joseph  Sr.Sec. School, Sec.44 in the Conference Hall of Botanical Garden at Sarangpur. On this occasion, Sh. Santosh Kumar, IFS, Director Environment & CCF was the Chief Guest. Chief Guest informed that this special day is held on September 16 th to mark the day back in 1987 when the Montreal Protocol was signed. Invite for applications from the allottees/authorized occupants of various Dwelling Units, for conversion from lease hold to free hold.

Chandigarh, 12 th September, 2017: The Chandigarh Administration has allowed the Conversions from lease hold to free hold basis vide letter no. 8204 dated 18/08/2017. CHB has decided to invite applications from the allottees/authorized occupants of various Dwelling Units, desirous of converting their Dwelling Units from lease hold to free hold. If the applicants have already applied for conversion in the past and their cases are pending, then they need not  submit a fresh application, but they shall give an affidavit stating whether the facts and contents of the applications submitted earlier, have changed or not and whether they fulfill all the requirements of the Chandigarh Conversion of Residential Lease-hold land tenure into Free hold land Tenure Rules, 1996. Dispense the undertaking for physical possession of the newly allotted Dwelling Units

Chandigarh, 12 th September, 2017: At present, the allottees of Chandigarh Housing Board Flats are required to submit an undertaking on a Non-judicial Stamp Paper before taking the physical possession of the newly allotted Dwelling Units, at site. Since the contents of the undertaking are also incorporated in the Allotment Letter issued to the allottees, therefore, keeping in view the convenience and ease of general public, it has been decided to dispense with the submission of the above said undertaking in future.

Concluding function of Eye Donation awareness fortnight programme at GMCH-32

Chandigarh, 8 th Sep, 2017: The Eye Bank Department of Ophthalmology GMCH organized concluding function in collaboration with State Health Society ( NPCB , UT Chandigarh) on the occasion of  Eye Donation awareness fortnight (from 25 th August to 8 th September) today  8 th September, 2017  in  E- Block GMCH. About 250 people attended this function. Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Secretary Medical Education and Research was the Chief Guest during the occasion. He inaugurated the poster exhibition on eye donation and appreciated the efforts of all the students who participated in this competition. Permission for raising platform in the common area

Chandigarh, 8 th Sep, 2017: A large number of dwelling units of General Housing Schemes, Employees Schemes, and other Special Category Schemes etc. have been allotted by CHB, wherein some common areas have been provided. Some of the allottees have raised a platform on the common area space in front of their D.Us where such space is mostly used by them only. Such allottees are approaching CHB for permission for raising platform in the common area in front of their D.U.        Therefore, Chandigarh Housing Board hereby allows rising of the platform in the common area in front of their DUs subject to the condition that the platform is within the common area and shall not cause any hindrance to free movement.  However, a penal charge of Rs.5000/-(Rs. Five thousand only) will be payable annually in the first month of every calendar year for the same.

9th Arts and Heritage Festival to be held in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 1 st September, 2017: The Department of Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration is organizing the culturally enriching event of 9 th Arts and Heritage Festival from 8 th to 10 th September, 2017 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh from 6:30 pm onward. The much awaited event will witness captivating performances by eminent personalities. On 8 th September there would be a performance by Padma Shri Malini Awasthi - an Indian folk singer who sings in Hindi language dialects like Awadhi, Bundelkhandi and Bhojpuri. She was awarded with the civilian honour of Padma Shri by the Government of India in the year 2016.
