Chandigarh, 4th April, 2017: Activities conducted
for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do
Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to
immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were
successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day
1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door
visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio
drops.
A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3.
'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. Department of Health, Police, Social Welfare, Transport and NCC Volunteers from different colleges of Chandigarh joined hands together in the mission to eradicate Polio from our society.
Director Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Rakesh Kashyap appreciated the efforts and motivation of all the volunteers who participated in this campaign and thanked all the teams for their tireless efforts.
