Awareness and Motivational Talk Session

Chandigarh, 24th May, 2017: An Awareness and Motivational Talk Session was organized today at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School- Sec 16, Chandigarh by Education Department Chandigarh in collaboration with ICSI on the theme   “ Empowering Educators  - Transforming India”. The Principals and Heads of the UT schools attended the talk show. The distinguished speakers were Sh. Vivek Atray, I.A.S, special secretary to Govt. Haryana, Monitoring & Coordination Dept., Director Cum Special Secretary to Govt. Haryana Art & Cultural Affairs Department and Dr. Gulshan Sharma (Director General ICSI). The department officials Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Smt. Saroj Mittal , DDSE Smt. Suman Sharma, Deputy Director Vocational Education , Smt. Rajinder Kaur, DEO and Smt. Sukhneer Sekhon, Deputy DEO II were also present .
Dr. Gulshan Sharma gave a motivational talk to the audience by highlighting the role of an educator as the one who can transform the society. He emphasized that the educators should have qualities like excellent communication skills, empathy, positivity, flexibility, creativity and leadership. Importance of digital technology was also highlighted in the talk. Need and importance of vocational education and training was also discussed. He also appreciated the UT education department for running twenty two vocational courses. The talk ended with a dream to make Chandigarh the best city for education in future.


Noted author, advisor, mentor and motivational speaker Sh. Vivek Atray also inspired the audience with his talks. He stressed on the need of leading a balanced and multidimensional life. He quoted many personalities like Usain Bolt, Mother Teresa, JRD Tata. He focused on the most essential attributes like enjoying little things in life, mindfulness, living in present and creating happy moments in life. The talk was concluded on the thought “Be Calmly Active and Actively Calm”.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
