Flag off of Food Delivery Van

Chandigarh, 13 th January, 2017:    Food Delivery Van was flagged off today by Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Health Secretary Chandigarh Administration in the presence of Dr. Rakesh Kashyap, Director Health Services, Medical Superintendent, Deputy Medical Superintendent and Senior Dietician from Govt Multi Speciality Hospital Sector 16, Chandigarh for delivery of cooked food from the base kitchen of GMSH – 16 to Civil Hospital Mani Majra, Civil Hospital 22 and Civil Hospital 45 This will facilitate the timely delivery of food to the patients admitted under Janani Shishu Surkashya Karyakarm in these peripheral hospitals. This van is duly licensed under Food Safety and Standard Regulation 2011. Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Health Secretary Chandigarh Administration, expressed his happiness over the initiative taken and appreciated the team of health department.

DIGI DHAN MELA to be organised in Chandigarh on 10th January, 2017

Chandigarh, 9th January, 2017: In a press conference held today at the U.T Secretariat Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary and Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T Chandigarh briefed the media personnels regarding the “ DIGI DHAN MELA ” being organised by the Chandigarh Administration  on 10 th January, 2016 at Parade Ground, sector-17, Chandigarh. During the day-long event banks, Common Service Centres (CSCs), private digital payment service providers etc. will provide services to consumers and merchants to adopt digital payments. The aim is to encourage adoption of digital payments by local residents, where they can interact with banks and other stakeholders, get apps downloaded and learn how to do digital transactions. Raid by State Tobacco Control Cell and Police Department

Chandigarh, 3 rd January, 2017: Today a special joint drive involving State Tobacco Control Cell and Police Department was conducted at prominent place of Chandigarh to check for the violation under various sections of COTPA Act 2003. After receiving specific information, State Nodal Officer of Chandigarh State Tobacco Control Cell Dr. Deepak Bakshi along with the officials of the police station of Industrial Area Phase-I conducted a special drive at “ONCE UPON A BOTTLE” a prominent place located at the ground floor of ELANTE MALL whereby a large quantity of imported cigarette cases were seized which didn't have pictorial warning as prescribed under section 7 of COTPA Act 2003. The total number of packets seized more than 67 and along with this flavoured Hookahs of out of India origin and molasses were also seized in large quantity.
