E-auction of Vehicle Registration Numbers of new series "CH01-BL

Chandigarh, 6 th  February, 2017:   It is for the information to the general public/residents of Chandigarh that the  registration  for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers of new series " CH01-BL " for special/choice registration numbers 0001 to 9999 will start from 09.02.2017 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 15.02.2017 (05:00 PM) and the  e-auction will start on 16.02.2017 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 18.02.2017 (05:00PM). Introduction of 3-D holograms on every bottle of Liquor

Chandigarh, 6 th  February, 2017:  With an eye on checking the illegal sale of liquor in Chandigarh, the Department of Excise and Taxation, Chandigarh has introduced 3-D holograms to be pasted on every bottle being sold and stored by the licensees. The idea was being deliberated and worked upon for almost 4 months and a transparent process was followed for allocation of the tender for supply of the holograms. Manipal Technologies Limited, a company having a vast experience and expertise in design of such holograms has been selected after rigorous scrutiny and will be providing these at a bare minimum price of 8 paise per hologram. Chandigarh, 03 rd February, 2017:    In pursuance of the order dated: 14.12.2015 issued by Hon'ble National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi, in the matter of Khalid Ashraf & Anr. Vs. U.O.I. & Ors (O.A. No. 384 of 2016) AND P.E.T.A., India Vs. U.O.I. & Ors. (O.A. No. 422 of 2016), it has been made to appear to the district magistrate that a large number of people flying kite, use synthetic/cylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Pakha thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjh/Dori. These Maanjhas/Dori, being made of synthetic material are non-biodegradable and thus cause serious injuries to human beings, birds and are equally disadvantageous & harmful to the wildlife/environment. In some case, it had also caused death of humans and birds.           Sh.
