Measles Rubella Campaign in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 28, 2017:   Chandigarh is going to inaugurate the Measles Rubella Campaign on August 3, 2017.   India has resolved to eliminate Measles & Control Rubella by 2020.In this regard, Government of India plans to cover the whole county in the phase wise strategy .First phase of this MR Campaign was held at Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry, Goa & Lakshadweep. In the 2 nd  Phase U.T Chandigarh along with Daman &Diu, Andhra Pradesh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Telangana & Uttarkhand are to conduct the Measles Rubella Immunization campaign in the month of August. Measles is highly infectious disease caused by a virus and an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 children die from measles annually, making it one of the leading causes of child death in India. Education Department Chandigarh (U.T) distributes Aids and Appliances to Children with Special Needs (CWSN)

Chandigarh, 27 th  July 2017:  The Chandigarh unit of the SSA in collaboration with ALIMCO (Artificial limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) distributed Aids and appliances to the Children With Special Need (CWSN) at Civil Hospital, sector 22, Chandigarh. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, was the Chief Guest and  DDSE Mrs. Saroj Mittal, DDVE Mrs. Suman Sharma, Mrs. Alka Mehta, MC, SSA presided over the function as the Guest of Honor.  In all 36   appliances including Wheel chair, Callipers, Rolletors, Shoe raisers, CP chairs, tricycles, hearing aids etc were distributed among the CWSN who had gathered here from various government schools of the city. Palash Day Celebrations

Chandigarh, 24 th  July 2017:  Department of Forests & Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Yuvsatta organized  ‘Palash Day Celebrations’  at City Forest Nagar Van, behind Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh today. Malaria Wing Launches two Mobile Applications- Fight the Bite & Field watch

Chandigarh, 20 th  July 2017:  The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh launched  two mobile based applications developed by the malaria wing of the Health Department of Chandigarh. These applications by the name of Fight the Bite and Field watch are directed towards the community involvement in control of vector borne diseases and other diseases prevalent in Chandigarh. These mobile based applications have been developed by Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, Anti Malaria Officer and his team under the supervision of the Director Health Services in order to ensure transparency and have community participation. 1.       Fight the Bite  is an application which is basically aimed at taking the community feedback. AAROGYA VATIKA INAUGURATED

Chandigarh, 19 th July, 2017: It was a special day for the Principal students and staff of GGMSSS18 CHANDIGARH today as Sh.
