Malaria Wing Launches two Mobile Applications- Fight the Bite & Field watch


Chandigarh, 20th July 2017: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh launched two mobile based applications developed by the malaria wing of the Health Department of Chandigarh. These applications by the name of Fight the Bite and Field watch are directed towards the community involvement in control of vector borne diseases and other diseases prevalent in Chandigarh.

These mobile based applications have been developed by Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, Anti Malaria Officer and his team under the supervision of the Director Health Services in order to ensure transparency and have community participation.

1.     Fight the Bite is an application which is basically aimed at taking the community feedback. It has several features like:
Suggestions from the community as to how the containment of diseases can be undertaken.
Secondly if any of the community member or a Government employee wants to complain about mosquitogenic conditions or working of the NVBDCP unit or even the water stagnation etc.
Thirdly the community can even upload the photographs through this application regarding stagnation of water, sewerage leakage, blocked gully traps or any other mosquitogenic conditions.

This application will be made available at Google Play store so that all the suggestions and complaints can be addressed in the timely manner. Every public who will participate in this application will receive the feedback about their suggestion or complaint.

2.     Field watch is an application which will ensure transparency in reporting of all cases of vector, water and airborne diseases. Since these diseases are notifiable in Chandigarh so NVBDCP unit will ensure that all the Government as well as private health institutions will report all positive cases through this application.
Secondly this application will have a reporting system from the field units of the NVBDCP whereby incharge of every field unit has to report on this portal about their day to day work which will be reviewed at all levels through the admin portal.
Thirdly it will have a component of fogging operations being carried out in Chandigarh and all fogging operations will be reported on this application.

GIS /Spatial technology will be an adjunct to map the place of reporting and movement of field workers.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants.
