Chandigarh Housing Board Introduces Certification about No-Violation in Dwelling Units Chandigarh 01st August 2019:- As per existing instructions, in cases where no misuse/building violations are reported (as per the record), the information furnished by the applicant in the application form of transfer of dwelling units with affidavit of the Transferor and Transferee are being relied upon. In all such cases, fresh inspection reports are not insisted upon and transfer of the dwelling units are allowed based on such declarations. However the transferee continues to be liable for all the building violations either existing at the time of transfer or made subsequently. It has been observed that in some cases, transfer of the unit was allowed on the basis of such declarations but subsequently certain misuse/building violations were observed. Model High School, Rehabilitation Colony (II), Maloya to become operational by Monday i.e. 05.08.2019 Chandigarh, 1st August 2019: The Engineering Department of Administration has completed the construction of Secondary School building in Maloya in an area of 5.71 acres having 49 rooms at a cost of Rs. 20 crores. Finishing touches are being given to the school building/infrastructure.  Electricity connection and water supply have been provided to the school. Today, a team headed by Sh. B.L. Sharma, Secretary (Education), Sh. R.S. Brar, Director (School Education), and Sh. Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer visited the site of the school for reviewing final preparation for making the school operation by Monday i.e. 05.08.2019. Yoga Protocol organised by UT, police Chandigarh, 31st July 2019: Chandigarh Police organized a mega demonstration on 'Yoga Protocol' at Punjab University, Chandigarh today, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore was the Chief Guest at the function. World renowned yoga expert Padamshree Dr. H.R. Nagendra (Chancellor of SVYASA University, Bangalore) was the keynote speaker on Science of Yoga in Stress Management. The programme was organized for introduction to the joint research on Yoga and common yoga protocol for de-addiction. Rota Virus Vaccine administration starts at all health facilities in UT, Chandigarh Chandigarh,31st July, 2019: The Rotavirus vaccine that prevents Rota virus diarrhoea in infants and children  has been launched by Health Department in UT Chandigarh today. The initiative was spearheaded by Dr G Dewan , Director Health Services cum Mission Director, National Health Mission at an urban slum/ resettlement colony at Dhanas. The children  were administered with  five drops of oral Rotavirus Vaccine. From today, the vaccine will be part of the Routine Immunization days Wednesday and Saturday  to be given free with rest of the vaccines in all the health facilities of UT Chandigarh. Penalty Scheme allowing time to remove violations in CHB Flats Chandigarh, 29th July 2019: Certain need based changes for dwelling units of Chandigarh Housing Board were recently permitted. The allottees/occupants were required to get their violations regularized in terms of given relaxation and remove all other violations which are not covered under this policy. However most of the allottee/occupants could not complete this exercise and they require some more time to make changes in their dwelling units. Now it has been decided that the additional constructions in the dwelling units of Chandigarh Housing Board are given temporary exemption from immediate demolition upto 31.12.2020, subject to payment of penal charges. Manoj Kumar Parida (IAS), Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh alongwith Home Secretary, Secretary Social Welfare, visited Children’s Home Snehalaya for Boys, Maloya   to review the functioning and infrastructural upkeep managed by the Department of Social Welfare Women and Child Development, Chandigarh.  Snehalaya for Boys is a Children’s Home, registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and at present 94 children in need of care and protection are residing in the Home.
