Celebration of National Voters Day 2016

Chandigarh, 25th January, 2016: The Election Department, Chandigarh Administration celebrated the National Voters Day in the Government College for Girls, sector 42, Chandigarh today. Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home secretary cum Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner cum Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Kashish Mittal, IAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Prince Dhawan, IAS, SDM (Central), Smt. Kriti Garg, IAS SDM (South) and Dr. Tapasya Raghav, IAS, SDM (East) celebrated the auspicious day with the students of the college.

The cultural programme was organized by the college in which various performances were showcased. The Adviser Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator appreciated the way students enhanced the significance of the National Voters Day in such a beautiful way. He urged the audience to use their voting right in a proper manner as this is the most important right given to the citizens of a democratic country. He also encouraged the students to make the most of this right by choosing the most deserving candidate.

Everyone present at the function along with all the senior officials took the pledge on the National Voters Day to use this right in the most appropriate way.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
