French President François Hollande and Prime Minister of India visits Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 24th January, 2016: H.E French President, Mr. François Hollande, today arrived in India and visited Chandigarh, with the Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi.
The two leaders as a part of their engagements during the State Visit jointly visited different locations in Chandigarh, namely Nek Chand Rock Garden, Capitol Complex, Government Museum & Art Gallery and The Taj Hotel, Chandigarh. H.E French President, Mr. François Hollande paid a visit to Chandigarh to witness the architecture of the renowned architect and creator of Chandigarh, Le Corbusier.
During their visit to the Government Museum & Art Gallery, the Prime Minister and President Hollande congratulated the Indo-French team for their joint research work leading to this discovery. They underlined that this example of successful bilateral collaboration illustrated the long-standing cultural ties and enduring collaboration between India and France in rediscovering, preserving and promoting our shared cultural heritage.

At the France Business Summit held at Hotel Taj in Chandigarh, an MoU was signed between AFD and The Government of the Union Territory of Chandigarh on technical cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development for development of smart city in Chandigarh. Under its FEXTE programme the French government will provide technical assistance on urban development. French Urban Development Experts from the French public sector will be based in the city. Experts in the fields of urban transport, water and waste treatment, solar energy, urban planning and architecture and heritage will assist the city with their smart city development plans.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
