Photo Exhibition at Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, 31 January, 2016:  Sh. Santosh Kumar, IFS Director, Department of Science and Technology, UT inaugurated the Photo exhibition at Sukhna Lake. The exhibition is organised by Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies (PU) , Natural Biodiversity in collaboration with Hobby Development Association.
             The exhibition is showcasing Avian, Reptilian and Mammalian fauna and besides that highlighting the concern of climate change. Prof. Nandita Singh chief coordinator informed that it is a collaborative effort based on the vision of Swami Vivekananda with focus on Environment and climate. 

               Arun Bansal, administrator, natural biodiversity who is coordinating this even mentioned that as many as 60 photographers including the students, amateur and professional wildlife photographers have been showcasing their work in the exhibition. Navtej Singh, co-founder of ‘Natural Biodiversity’ emphasized that that this is one of the biggest exhibitions held in Chandigarh with more than 160 prints being displayed at one places. A live workshop and interaction with Photography lovers was also facilitated by Sh. Kulbhushan Kanwar and Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh.  
           Rajesh Khurana who is banker and integral part of the group highlighted the positive response of the people towards such events. The exhibition is moving to PGI on Feb 1, 2016 for the next three days in Zakir hall of the institute.

  1. Thanks for sharing about photo exhibition in Sukhna Lake, a man-made lake, created by damming the seasonal stream that comes down from the Shivalik Hills. With migratory birds like Crane, Stork and Siberian Duck , people of all ages can be seen enjoying the natural beauty around or excercising. It has also been declared a protected national wetland.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
