Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society’s participation in Rose Festival

Chandigarh, 19th February, 2016: Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society participated in the Rose Festival held from 19th February to 21st February, 2016, at Rose Garden and Leisure Valley, Sector-10, Chandigarh. Two awareness stalls were put up one at Rose Garden and one at Leisure Valley creating awareness about HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections and importance of Voluntary Blood Donation.
The fair was inaugurated by Ms. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament Chandigarh along with other dignitaries. While her visit to the fair she was apprised about the awareness activities being  taken up during the fair to make people aware about HIV/AIDS and Voluntary Blood Donation by Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society. She appreciated the innovative way of creating HIV/AIDS awareness.
On the first day of Rose festival more than 2000 youngsters, housewives and professionals were sensitized and it was made sure that all young people have access to accurate and timely information about the routes of transmission and services available in Chandigarh.
Red Ribbons were pinned to each individual visiting the stalls. To involve young people quiz competition was organized with a theme of HIV/AIDS awareness, VBD, Drug De-Addition and the winners were given small prizes to motivate them to gather more information. To attract the youngsters to visit the stalls special free tattoo making was done.
Puppet shows were also organized in which messages on HIV/AIDS awareness were given. IEC material was also distributed having information about the services available in Chandigarh. This activity was conducted by involving students of Red Ribbon Clubs.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
