Day 1 Children’s Film Festival

Chandigarh, 24th February, 2016:- Children’s Film festival organized by Chandigarh Administration was inaugurated today by H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki Governor of Punjab & Haryana and Administrator U.T Chandigarh. The lamp lightening ceremony was followed by National Anthem and followed by flashing of movie on the big screen at Piccadilly multiplex, Sector-34, Chandigarh. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, Smt. Kriti Garg, I.A.S, SDM South, Sh. Rubinder jeet Brar, DPI Schools, Sh. Sarvjit Singh, Finance Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh and Sh. Maninder Singh, Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board gave their presence during the event.
For the first time massive number of students collectively from different government schools and orphanages were shown an animated English movie “How To Train Your Dragon” on 29 different screens of various cinemas/multiplexes around the city.
H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor Punjab & Haryana and Administrator U.T Chandigarh felt felicitous being part of the event and appreciated the efforts of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi’s, I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner for bringing up the concept.  He further said  that such events bring a feeling of belongingness to a good Administration among the children.
Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh assured that this event would be organized every year in the month of January and the number of students would be maximized on the next event.  He further added that students are our nation builders and it is our duty to provide them such engagements.  

The same movie will be screened tomorrow (25th February 2016) to entertain rest of the students and  Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator will be attending the closing ceremony.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
