Distribution of Water Purifiers to Anganwari Workers

Chandigarh, 24th February, 2016:- Water purifiers were distributed today to Anganwari Workers of different centers located in Chandigarh.  Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, along with Smt. Bhawana Garg, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare and Smt. Nishu Singal, HCS Director Social Welfare today distributed 120 Tata Swatch Smart Water Purifiers to workers of different Anganwari centers of the city. The initiative has been taken by Bharat Prakarsh Foundation.
Addressing the gathering Smt. Neena Singh, trustee of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation thanked the Administration and the Social Welfare Department for the smooth conduct of the project. She also applauded the generous initiative taken by their corporate patron Nectar Lifesciences Ltd. and their CEO Sh. Dinesh Dua.
Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, congratulated the Bharat Prakarsh Foundation for taking such a positive initiative and said, “A city can never become smart only by infrastructure we have to ensure that our human resources are nurtured well. A step taken today by the Department of Social Welfare and Bharat Prakarsh Foundation is a very important step to ensure that all the children are provided with clean and pure drinking water”.
Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, further appealed to all the workers to ensure that better lifestyle is given to all the Children at the Anganwari centers.
Smt. Bhawana Garg, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare assured the foundation that all the Anganwari workers would make proper use of the purifiers and ensure that all the Children are safe.

In 1st phase 125 water purifiers were distributed to the Anganwari centers and this is the 2nd phase of the distribution.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
