Evacuation of Travelers

Chandigarh, 22nd February, 2016:- Due to the protest in Haryana over Jat Reservation the Chandigarh Administration had come forward to help the people who were stuck in Chandigarh and had been facing difficulties.  The Disaster Management Department of Chandigarh Administration through the toll free number 1077 has helped more than 1600 people during the troubled time and today evacuated all the people who were residing in various Dharamshalas of Chandigarh since yesterday.  A special train was run today from Chandigarh Railway Station to Delhi Railway Station for the evacuation of these people.
Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh said, “ I would like to appreciate the efforts put in by our teams in ensuring that the travelers face no difficulties during these troubled hours”. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, personally ensured that all the travelers are comfortable and face no problem.

The Disaster Management Department, Chandigarh Administration along with the Red Cross Society, Chandigarh ensured that 1600 plus people safely board the special train and provided them with tea, food at various locations like Bus stand, Railway stations along with all the Dharamshala’s.

Public Camp Chandigarh, 28 January, 2016 :-  It is for the information of the general public that the public camp for 29/01/2016 is to be held at community centre of Sector 45. The sectors covered in the camp would be Sector 44, 45 including burial Village, 46 and 33 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
