Film Festival in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 23rd February, 2016:- The Chandigarh Administration is organizing Children’s Film Festival on 24th & 25th February 2016. This Film Festival will cater more than 15000 students of various Govt. schools and orphanages of Chandigarh. 
                   Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate said, “Movies related to Children would be screened during this festival to entertain the students from different Govt. schools and orphanages of Chandigarh. All 29 screens of Chandigarh would be showcasing the films free of cost for these children.” The Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh ensured that proper transportation facilities and refreshments will be provided to the children. 

                   The film festival will be inaugurated by H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor Punjab & Haryana and Administrator U.T Chandigarh on 24th February 2016 and Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator would preside over at the closing ceremony of the same.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
