National Immunization Day

Chandigarh, 20th February, 2016: National Immunization Day(NID) Pulse Polio Campaign February round is scheduled from  21st to 23rd February 2016.As per the previous practice, on  day 1 i.e 21st February 2016,more than 480 booths are set up to cover more than one Lakh children in the age group of 0-5 Years. The children, who are left on day 1, will be covered by House to House Activities on 2nd & 3rd Day.
This programme is an excellent example of interdepartmental coordination where teams comprising of Persons from Health department, Police department NSS volunteers from the education department, department of Social Welfare along with transport department work tirelessly to make it a success.
This time 5 additional teams have been deployed to vaccinate the children coming to visit Rose garden during Rose festival. The state level function of the Pulse Polio Campaign will be inaugurated by worthy Health-cum-Home Secretary, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS in one of the booths situated at Rose garden entrance.
All Citizen of Chandigarh are requested to mobilize their children in the age group of 0-5 Years to their nearest booths for oral polio Vaccine.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
