Regional Conference to Discuss Problems Faced by Minority Educational Institutions

Chandigarh, 25th February, 2016:- A Regional Workshop will be organized by National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) on 26th February, 2016. The said conference would be attended by delegations from various states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh.
The main agenda of the conference would be to discuss the problems that are faced by Minority Educational Institutions especially with regard to deprivation and violation of educational rights of minorities granted under Article 30 of the Constitution.
The conference will be presided over by H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, Punjab and Administrator U.T. Chandigarh. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar will inaugurate the conference and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal will deliver the keynote address. The Minority Ministers from Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh will also join the conference.
The conference would also be attended by the Hon’ble members of the commission Sh. Zafar Agha, Dr. Baltej Singh Mann, Dr. (Mrs.) Naheed Abidi along with the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the commission.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
