Workshop cum Training programme By Punjab & Sind Bank

Chandigarh, 5th February, 2016:- A workshop cum Training programme was organized by Punjab & Sind Bank on the subject of ‘Aspects relating to Vigilance Awareness’ at Staff Training College, Sec. 17B Chandigarh. The programme was inaugurated by Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh Administration. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Chairman & Managing Director Sh. Jatinder Bir Singh, Executive Director Sh. M.K. Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer Sh. M.G. Srivastava and other executives of Punjab & Sind Bank and also honorable representatives from CVC New Delhi.

The event started with the lighting of ‘Knowledge Lamp’ by the Chief Guest and other invited dignitaries.  Sh. Vijay Dev emphasized the importance of honest working officers and the need of their protection by the Management. In the same spirit, he also persuaded that the officers who play with the system and procedures for their personal gains should also be identified and dealt severely under existing system and procedure of the organization.

Sh. Jatinder Bir Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank in his inaugural address thanked the Advisor, Sh. Vijay Dev for accepting the offer of Chief Guest at this function and also thanked him for being very considerate towards legitimate needs of the Bank during ordinary course of business. The CMD also highlighted the importance of vigilance awareness in the Bank and hoped that this programme would inculcate more sense of responsibility among functionaries of enquiry committees and investigating teams.

The participants in this workshop were top officials of the Bank including Zonal Managers, Assistant General Managers and Enquiry Officers. This workshop is also going to be addressed by top officials of CVC, New Delhi including Sh. R.N.Nayak, Director, CVC and Sh. Rajesh Verma, Advisor in the Finance Section of CVC. The programme would conclude on Saturday, the 6th of February 2016.  


The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sh. M.K. Jain, the Executive Director and Sh. T.P.S. Walia, Zonal Manager, Chandigarh.
