02 March, 2016: India’s most loved humorist , Padma
Bhushan Jaspal Bhatti’s vision is alive and kicking. The Chandigarh
Administration is celebrating the contribution made by Sh. Bhatti by organizing
a ‘Jaspal Bhatti Humor Festival’ this year coinciding with the celebrated
humorist’s birthday this year, which falls on 3rd March.
Addressing the press, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS,
Director, Department of Cultural Affairs, said that the event would be a two
day affair and would showcase comedians pan India. The event hosted by the
Administration will be staged at Tagore Theatre on the 3rd and 4th of March
this year.
Giving
details about the event, Sh. Yadav said that as a tribute to the great vision
of Sh. Jaspal Bhatti, artists from
Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab were going to be a part of the festival. AIB, Jaswinder
Bhalla, Bal MUkand Sharma, Rana Ranbir, Surendra Sharma,Deepak Raja, Amit
Tandon, Rupesh Tillu and Sumedh Shinde would be the star attractions of the 2
day festival.
On
this occasion, Smt. Savita Bhatti said that it was a commendable effort to pay
respect to the man who had made Chandigarh his personal and professional base.
“The festival will be a living testimony to the ground breaking work Sh. Bhatti
did and it will be our effort to showcase different forms of humor through the
coming years”.
