Launch of “e-Awaas- Online Accommodation Management System" portal

Chandigarh, 11th March, 2016: The Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh, Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, today launched “e-Awaas", the Online Accommodation Management System" portal at the U.T Secretariat. The inauguration was done in the presence of senior officers namely, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum State Mission Director, Smart City, Dr. S. B. Deepak Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Upper) House Allotment Committee and Sh. Danish Ashraf, IAS, Secretary (Lower) House Allotment Committee cum Nodal Officer, Smart City Mission. 

“First of its kind” web portal in India, e-Awaas is meant to give details of Govt. House Accommodation, wherein all applications, grievances and queries related to Govt. House Allotment will be received and resolved online. Developed by NIC, Chandigarh, this project has been designed by Sh. Danish Ashraf, IAS, Secretary (Lower) House Allotment Committee under the guidance of Dr. S.B Deepak Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Upper) House Allotment Committee. Easing up the manual process of house allotment for citizens by taking it online, this portal allows Citizens of Chandigarh, Punjab & Haryana to easily access information regarding house allotment, seek maintenance details and submit grievances online. This portal will be available on “Smart Chandigarh” mobile application also. 

Commenting on the occasion, Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, congratulated the House Allotment Committee, U.T Chandigarh, for introducing such a unique initiative for the convenience and interest of the citizens.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
