Meeting to Review the Midday Meal Scheme

Chandigarh, 21st March, 2016:- A meeting was held today under chairmanship of Worthy Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS regarding the review of Midday Meal Scheme Implementation. The meeting was attended by Sh. Sarvjit Singh, IAS, Finance Secretary cum Secretary Education, Smt. Bhawana Garg, IAS, Special Secretary Finance, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Principals from AIHM & CIHM, Manager CITCO and the team of Education Department.

The meeting was held to get the annual work plan budget approvals from the Adviser to the Administrator with regard to the midday meal scheme. As per the liking of the children the Administration has decided to bring a change and include more nutritious food items like Dalia based khichdi in the menu.


The Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS appreciated the achievement of the Education Department of providing midday meal to approximately 52,000 school children daily at par with the expected target of 50,000 School children.

Public Camp Chandigarh, 28 January, 2016 :-  It is for the information of the general public that the public camp for 29/01/2016 is to be held at community centre of Sector 45. The sectors covered in the camp would be Sector 44, 45 including burial Village, 46 and 33 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
