Availability of Free Laboratory Facilities 24X7 in GMSH-16

Chandigarh, April 8th, 2016: The Govt. Multi Speciality Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh provides Laboratory services to all the patients attending the OPD as well as patients admitted in the wards.

This facility is available round the clock. For the patients who are admitted in the emergency and Labour room, all the emergency Laboratory tests like Blood Sugar, Renal Function test-Urea, Creatinine, Electolytes, LFT, Amylase, Lipase, Haemoglobin, TLC, DLC, Platelet Count, Urine routine examination, Fluid processing are available.

These facilities are available on a very nominal charge. The list of Laboratory tests along with their Nominal charges are displayed in the premises of GMSH-16 for the convenience of the patients. Tests like Malaria, Dengue Serology and Swine Flu are also available round the clock which are absolutely free covered under National Programs.

No patient is denied of any kind of required Laboratory tests available in the lab at any time of the day. The routine laboratory tests like TFT, HIV, HbSAg, VDRL are done free of cost under JSSK in ICTC Obs & Gynae during Hospital hours.

The emergency Laboratory of GMSH-16 is in the process of adding Coagulogram and HCV (required for emergency surgeries) soon. The patients requiring to undergo HCV test which is presently not available in GMSH-16 Laboratory are referred to Private/Charitable Labs. The Laboratory is in the process of starting all specialised Immunoassays parameters which will be useful for Endocrine Disorders, Genetic Disorders and some Cancers.
