Committee for for proper implementation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955

Chandigarh, 29th April, 2016: In pursuance to the advice of Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution, Department of Consumer  Affairs, New Delhi, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to constitute a Committee, comprising the following for proper implementation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955) and The Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance if Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 and for further recommendations for fixation of stock limits of essential commodities i.e. pulses, edible oils, edible oilseeds, onions or any other commodity in respect of UT of Chandigarh.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
