Demolition Drive

Chandigarh, 11th April, 2016: On the orders of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner cum Estate officer, U.T. Chandigarh a demolition drive was conducted today in village Dhanas to remove the illegal religious structures existing on the government land which have been pending for a long time. The drive was carried out under the supervision of Sh. Prince Dhawan, IAS, SDM (C) and Sh. Amit Talwar, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh. Time and again the Administration has given notices for removal of such illegal structures but it went unheard, resulting to the drive. The structures which were illegally made on the public parks surrounding Dhanas mainly in the residential area were removed. As a precautionary measure, more than 300 police persons were deputed during the drive.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
