Launch of Toll Free Number 1800-180-2054

Chandigarh, 28th April, 2016: The Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, today launched the Toll-Free Number 1800-180-2054 at the UT Secretariat, Chandigarh. The Toll-Free number has been created by the Zila Sainik Welfare Board to redress the grievances of serving and retired soldiers from any part of the country, which relate to the Chandigarh Administration.

Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, President, Zila Sainik Board, during the launch shared that the Toll-Free number has been launched for easing up the process of grievance registration and reddressal for ex-servicemen, serving soldiers and their widows/wards, so that they can call on this number and register their complaints pertaining to any department of the Chandigarh Administration. Once the complaint is made, a registration number would be given to each complainant for future reference and to know the status of their complaint.

Addressing the media during the launch, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, said that the Toll Free number will help the Defence community to get their complaints registered and answered timely, at the convenience of their home. This would serve as a common platform to register grievances related to any Department of the Chandigarh Administration, which would be forward to the concerned department by the Zila Sainik Office. The Adviser to the Administrator, further added that this is one-of-a-kind step taken by the Zila Sainik Welfare Board to timely and conveniently address all issues of serving and retired soldiers. Depending upon the performance and feedback of this service, the Board would further add to it and extend multiple lines. Adding to this, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS also shared that the process of creating a Toll-Free number for public is already in progress and would be launched soon by the Chandigarh Administration for registering any kind of complaints related to all the departments of the Chandigarh Administration.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
