Concluding day of the Yoga Orientation Programme

Chandigarh, 16th May, 2016: The Concluding day of the Yoga Orientation Programme for masters today saw participation by experts from various Yoga Organizations like Patanjali Yogpeeth, Art of LivingIsha Foundation, Brahmrishi Yoga training college, Chandigarh Yog Sabha, Yoga Federation of India, Yog Vidya Maha Samiti, Friends of Yoga, Bharti Yog Sansthan etc. More than 800 yoga trainers participated today in the Orientation programme.Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh and Sh. Amit Talwar, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh along with other officials of the Chandigarh Administration were also present during the orientation programme.

As a part of the preparations for the grand event of 2nd International Yoga Day, 2016 a daily review meeting was held at DC office under the chairmanship of with Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh with the members of the Control Room. During the meeting development made by various departments relating to the event were discussed.

At the outset, it was stated that the launch of the official website for registration of the 2nd International Yoga Day along with the Online Registration Facility, Mobile App, Toll Free Number, Facebook Page, Twitter Page, Instagram & Youtube Channel would be done by H.E Governor of Punjab and Haryana & Administrator U.T. Chandigarh, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki will be. As a step to smoothen the process of registration and offer maximum convenience to people, the online medium of registration has been developed. H.E Governor of Punjab and Haryana & Administrator U.T. Chandigarh would be the first citizen to register himself for the Yoga Orientation Programme which is scheduled to begin in the city from 21st May 2016 at 200 venues and go until the day of the grand event on 21st June, 2016.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
