Chandigarh, 14th May, 2016: The Third Day of the Yoga Orientation
programme today saw participation of more than 800 yoga trainers. Sh. Anurag
Agarwal, IAS Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration and Sh. Amit Talwar,
PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh along with other officials
of the Chandigarh Administration were present during the orientation programme.
Experts of various Yoga Organizations like Patanjali Yog Peeth, Art
of Living, Isha Foundation, Brahmrishi Yoga training
college, Chandigarh Yog Sabha, Yoga Federation of India, Yog Vidya Maha Samiti,
Friends of Yoga, Bharti Yog Sansthan etc have been attending the orientation
Programme for last two days. Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh
Administration appreciated the efforts of all the
participants, and appealed to all residents of Chandigarh to participate with
full vigour to make International Yoga Day a huge success. He also mentioned
that 200 training venues have been identified all over the city where master
trainers shall provide training to city residents and Chandigarh Administration
is developing a mobile application to register participants for the event.
Later during the day, a review meeting was held with Sh.
Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh along with all the
members of core team at the Control Room. During the meeting Sh. Ajit Balaji
Joshi, IAS, said that the online registrations for the camps to be held from 21st May
2016 in various locations should begin from 17th May
2016. Faculties from the College of Arts shared the creatives for the
Social Media campaigns/print media.
A control room has been established at the DC office, Chandigarh
to monitor and coordinate the plan of event. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS,
suggested that different online competitions should be planned, Competition of
Yoga Postures and Yoga Anthem, Tagline etc. Yoga training would be imparted to
the specially abled citizens of the city as well.
