Chandigarh, 29th June,
2016: Aadhaar based
Birth Registration has been started in Chandigarh with effect from 28th June
2016. Tablets and Authentication Devices have been provided to all the
Government Hospitals for Aadhaar registration of new born children along with
Birth Registration Certification. On the first day, 26 Aadhaar and Birth
Registrations have been done. Union Territory of Chandigarh has become the
second State after Haryana to start Aadhaar Linked Birth Registration. Private
Hospitals will be starting the Aadhaar Registrations on the same grounds
shortly.
