Imposition of Section 144 on Immigration/Emigration/Student Visa Companies

Chandigarh, 14th June, 2016: It has been made to appear that some Immigration/Emigration/Student Visa Companies are running their offices in U.T., Chandigarh.  Since there is no need of license for consultancy of student visa, they also start providing of Immigration/Emigration consultancy to the people. They get published advertisements in leading newspapers and dupe the innocent people of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and after 2/3 months, they close their offices and run away from the city. The unlawful activities of these companies can cause endanger to the general public.
                   Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, Chandigarh, is of the opinion that some check is necessary on these companies so that they  may not cause harm to the citizen and that immediate action is warranted in this regard.
                   Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, Chandigarh in exercise of the power vested u/s 144 Cr.P.C. has ordered as an emergency measure that before establishing such companies, it is mandatory for the owner of the company to provide complete antecedents in writing to the Chandigarh Police at Public Window, Police Headquarter, Sector 9, Chandigarh within 7 days as and when they start their consultancy business in the City.
                                      This order shall come into force with effect from zero hours on 11.06.2016 and shall be effective for a period of sixty days up to and including 09.08.2016.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
