Municipal Corporation Responds to Clean the Area at Capitol Complex on War-Footing Level

Chandigarh, 21st June, 2016: In the International Day of Yoga held on 21.06.2016 at the Capital Complex, Chandigarh, thousands of people from the different groups/institutions participated.  In addition to this, there were police officials, Duty Magistrates, Supervisors, Sector Officers, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and Volunteers from Nirankari Mission.

After the event, the sanitation team of Municipal Corporation lead by Jt. CMC, Sh. Rajiv Gupta, PCS; Medical Officer of Health, Sh. P.S. Bhatti; Health Supervisors, Sh. Partap Singh,   Sh. Ramphal Singh and Sh. Subhash Chander; Chief Sanitary Inspectors, Sh. O.P. Malik; Sh. Karamvir Singh and Field Supervisor, Sh. R.S. Hooda; Sanitary Inspectors, Sh. Ashish Malik; Sh. Mohinder Pathak;   Sh. Parminder Singh; Sh. Manjit Singh;   Sh. Harvinder Singh; Sh. Sanjiv Sihag; Sh. Sukhwinder Singh;   Sh. Gurvinder Singh;   Sh. Parveen Kumar and Sh. Ashok Kumar alongwith 200 Safaikaramcharies under the personal supervision of the Commissioner, MCC, Sh. B. Purushartha cleaned the whole Capital Complex, various parking’s and roads leading to venue in a record time of 2 hours after the completion of event.  In addition to this all the pools/ water bodies at the venue were also cleared.

Prior to the event, 300 dustbins were placed to avoid littering at the venue and participants were encouraged to keep the venue clean. Chandigarh Administration recognizes the sanity of the venue Capitol Complex. Despite rain affected conditions the staff of Municipal Corporation worked effortlessly to clear the entire area within two hours of the evacuation of the venue.
This staff of Sanitation Wing of MCC had also made strenuous efforts to clear the water logging after the heavy rain.

The organization of this event has led to a worldwide recognition for the Capitol Complex, and Chandigarh Administration feels proud to have carried the event successfully.

handigarh Administration hopes that the City Beautiful continues with Yoga as a life style, a cash less health insurance as mentioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister for physical, mental and spiritual well being.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
