Nominations for “Yayoshrestha Sammans” – Celebration of International Day of the Elderly – 1st October

Chandigarh, 17th June, 2016: The Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shastri Bhawa, New Delhi Instituted Thirteen Categories for awarding the Vayoshrestha Samman (National Award for Senior Citizens) and the Government of India has invited two nominated (Maximum) under each category. The Social Welfare Department, Chandigarh Administration invites applications from deserving individuals and institutions from amongst public for the “Vayoshrestha Samman” to be given on the occasion of International Day of the Elderly to be celebrated on October 1 for forwarding the same to the Government of India.

Different categories of awards are – Best Institution for Research and dissemination of Knowledge in the field of Ageing; Best Institution for providing Services to Senior Citizens; Best District Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body; Best State in Implementing the Maintenance and Welfare of  Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and providing services and facilities to Senior Citizens; Best Private Sector Organization in promoting the well being and welfare of senior citizens; Centenarian Award; Iconic Mother Award, Lifetime Achievement Award; Award for Creative Art; Award for Sports and Adventure (Male and Female) and Courage and Bravery Award (Male and Female). The awards shall consist citation, momento and cash award. All the eligible individuals/ institutions are requested to send their applications under the aforesaid categories by 27.06.2016.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants.
