Orientation Workshop Organized By Labour Department

Chandigarh, 8th June, 2016: With an aim to spread awareness among the masses with regard to make “Chandigarh-Child Labour Free”, Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh under the able guidance of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Labour Commissioner, organized an orientation workshop on 7th June, 2016 at Labour Welafre Centre Building, sector-30B, Chandigarh. The representatives of various associations were made aware regarding the prevailing laws of establishment of Child Labour. Assistant Labour Commissioner, laid emphasis that all the associations should join hands with the Department to curb this menace by spreading awareness in the society and informed that the Department will be undertaking a special drive to fight the problem of Child Labour by conducting raids. Sh. Neil Robert, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee along with Child Protection Officer also apprised the participants regarding the facilities being provided to the children who are rescued from various quarters.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
