Chandigarh, 16th June, 2016: Chandigarh Housing Board requires the original Death
Certificate of the allottee or the deceased legal heir if he/she has expired,
for processing transfer cases. It has
come to notice that in some cases, death certificates are issued by authorities
in foreign countries or in India and only one copy of the
original death certificate is available with the applicant. Similarly, in case
of other documents which are required in original, the applicant has only one
copy of the document, which may be required by the applicant for some other
purpose(s)
Keeping in view the above
circumstances, on the persistent demand of the general public, in the interest
of public service and to facilitate the delivery of services to the general
public, the concerned Accounts Officers are hereby authorised to compare and
verify the contents of the photocopies of the original documents. After
verification, the original document shall be returned to the applicant on the
same day. The applicant will pay a fee of Rs. 1000/-per document for availing
this service. The concerned Accounts Officers shall be responsible for any
variation in the contents of the photocopies of the documents.
