Anti Dengue Month

Chandigarh, 15th July, 2016As a preparatory activity under the guidance of Director Health & Family Welfare, UT-Chandigarh the Malaria wing of Health Department, UT-Chandigarh today organized Health Awareness camp/ advocacy workshop Near Market Sector-20 Chandigarh, as a part of observance of July as Anti Dengue Month.

The awareness camp was attended by Dr Gourav Aggarwal, Anti malaria officer, Dr. Inderpal Singh (Epidemiologist-IDSP), Dr. J.P.Bansal Mo Incharge Civil Dispensary sector 20 Chandigarh, Dr. Rachana, President and executive members of Resident Welfare association Sector 20 Chandigarh, staff from the Malaria wing and general community of the area.

Anti malaria officer, Dr. Gourav Agarwal assured the gathering that the workers will continue their anti dengue activities in the area with full zeal in this season with support of residence of Sector 20 Chandigarh. He also stressed upon quick disposal of unused tyres and other dumped matter lying in open area and roof tops, covering of overhead tanks and weekly draining with scrubbing of coolers to prevent mosquitogenic situation in the area.

Dr. Gourav Agarwal along with members of Resident Welfare association Sector 20 Chandigarh flagged off various teams constituted by the NVBDCP Staff for carrying following field activities and a rally was also organized in the market for general awareness.

1.     Checking of unused tyres and dumped matter lying in open, coolers and uncovered tanks.
2.     Anti larval activities.
3.     Anti adult activities.
4.     IEC activities in the market and residential areas and distribution of pamphlets.
5. Mega phone announcements for general awareness of those working in motor market.
6.  Entomological exhibition of causative organisms of malaria and dengue and other IEC material display was also done at the camp.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
