Camp for Person with Disability

Chandigarh, 29th July, 2016: The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration in convergence with ALIMCO organized a camp for Person with Disability at Aasha Kiran, Sector 46 today. In the camp 190 Persons with Disability were registered who were identified during the survey conducted by the Department from the month of March to July. After registration these 190 beneficiaries were assessed by the technical officers of the ALIMCO for the requirement of aids and appliances of these beneficiaries. In all 38 digital type Hearing Aid & Smart Canes, 11 tablets, 14 Daisy player, 70 folding wheel chairs, 24 Tri Cycle and 15 artificial limbs shall be provided to these beneficiaries free of cost under SIPDA scheme of Government of India Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
