Clarification regarding news item “Discotheques may close an hour later, at 1 AM”

Chandigarh, 7^th July, 2016: In reference to the news item published today in a leading English newspaper under the headline “Discotheques may close an hour later, at 1 AM”, it has been clarified by Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T Chandigarh that no such policy regarding allowing discotheques to remain open upto 1 am was discussed in any meeting or reviewed. The facts mentioned in the news item are devoid of truth.

Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T Chandigarh said, “The policy will be followed in letter and spirit”.
