Health Department in Collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Gynae.
Department, GMSH-16 and State Bank of Patiala organized free Health Camp at
Civil Dispensary, Sector 8 today. The Health Camp was inaugurated by Sh. Baldeo
Purushartha, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation and Joint Commissioner Sh.
Rajiv Gupta. This was the sixth Health Camp in continuation of previous five
Health Camps held at Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar and PHD 25.
Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services
assured that the optimum health care services will be provided to people coming
to the health facilities. Commissioner Municipal Corporation announced
exclusive support in this social cause of organizing health camp. Specialists
from field of Medicine, Gynae., Eye, Skin and ENT examined patients and gave
free consultation. Around 529 patients were examined at the camp and approx
320people were examined at Medical OPD and were given treatment accordingly 116
people were examined by Eye specialist at the venue.
Dr. Bharti Goel, Associate Professor GMCH 32 said
Senior Gynaecologists screened approx. 31 females above 30 yrs. for Breast and
Cervical Cancers, out of these 6were suspected for Cervical Cancer. Total 72
people were examined by ENT specialist. Total 92 people were examined for skin
diseases.
Nursing students from School of Nursing, GMSH-16,
conducted risk profiling of people > 30yrs. Out of 118 people screened
for Diabetes 22 were found to be suspected for diabetes. Risk profiling of 328
patients above 30 the age of years were done and 45 were found to be hypertensive
and 72 were overweight and 143 were found to be obese. Approx. 24 people were
tested for HIV and VDRL.
Counselling was also given in small groups to the
community regarding adoption of healthy lifestyle like physical activity weight
management, and early detection, signs and symptoms, timely referral and
management of Non communicable diseases by Dietician. An informative and
educative exhibition on HIV/ AIDS, Malaria and Leprosy was organized to
generate awareness amongst visitors.
Reeshap Global Health Care Foundation joined hands in
the campaign to save the foot of diabetic patients.
