Sood Dharamshala to be the country’s first ‘ Green Dharamshala’

Chandigarh, 10th July, 2016: Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh inaugurated 20 kWp solar photovoltaic power plant, Biogas plant having capacity of 6M3 & Rainwater Harvesting units at Sood Dharamshala, sector 22-D Chandigarh. Sh. Santosh Kumar , IFS and Sh.  Kapil Setia, Chief Architect were present  on the occasion. Sh. Sanjay Sood, IFS and Hony. Secretary of Sood Dharamshala  welcomed the  chief guest and other dignitaries.
The chief guest stressed upon the importance of conservation and green initiatives.  He said that environment conservation is the duty of every citizen of country and  not only that of the govt. He maintained that  Chandigarh  is fast approaching towards the cherished goal of zero carbon emission.

Speaking on the occasion ,Sh. Sanjay Sood explained about the green initiatives taken in the Dharamshala which include solar photovoltics, Biogas from kitchen waste,LED lights, rain water harvesting and green belt development in the Sood Dharamshala complex. He said Sood Dharamshala is the first Dharamshala which has taken these initiatives of such magnitude.
Sh.Parimal Rai, Advisor to the Administrator appreciated the work done by  the Sood Dharamshala charitable society which was established in 1962 and is doing social and charitable work since then. On the occasion, the chief guest and other dignitaries also planted pomegranate(Daroo)saplings. The chief guest stressed upon the importance of plants and trees in the protection of environment.

 Sh. Ashok kumar Sharma,CEO of Shivalik Solid Waste Management Ltd,Group, Sh. Vikram Hans, Smt. Subadna Butail, Sh. Deshraj Sood, Sh. Vivek Gupta, Dr.Hardip Singh, Dr. R.K. Banta, Sh.Navdesh Passi, Sh.Surender Thakur, Sh.Rajesh Gulati and  trustees of Sood Dharamshala were also present on the occasion.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
