Launch of State Higher Education Council (RUSA) Website

 Chandigarh, 5th August, 2016: Multilingual, dynamic and responsive website of State Higher Education Council (RUSA) UT, Chandigarh- http://spdchd.ac.in/ was launched by Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS in the presence of Sh. Sarvjit Singh (IAS), Education Secretary, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Prof. Arun K Grover, Vice Chancellor Panjab University, Sh. Tejinder Singh Luthra, IPS, Inspector General of Police and members of the Council.
The website gives complete detailed information about the plans and proposal submitted to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Right to Information Act, list of Members of Council and messages from the top notch management.
                   As per the vision and objective of MHRD the website is multilingual i.e translated into English, Punjabi and Hindi. It is user friendly allowing easy navigation through the website. The logo which has been designed for the State Higher Education Council is an  embodiment of united effort of torch bearers to enlighten the path of Real Education reaching the masses .It is amazing amalgamation of all to move together  to enrich all those who were denied of the ‘learning opportunity’ to enlighten their life hitherto.
Sh. Jitender Yadav, State Project Director (RUSA) emphasized that the main objective of the website is to share an online handbook with shelves stocked with relevant information and documents, images and symbols, communication strategy, distilled category wise to create a user friendly experience. Website provides links to various important sites like Chandigarh Administration, MHRD, UGC, Panjab University, NAAC and many more. The technology used for building the website is PHP with JavaScript + Bootstrap making it rich experience for user while scrolling through the website
                   Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS appreciated the efforts of Prof. Arun K Grover, Chairman of State Higher Education Council, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Jitender Yadav, State Project Director (RUSA) on launching of the website. He stressed that efforts may be initiated by the council in upgrading the ‘B’ NAAC graded colleges to ‘A’ grade.

                   The website has been conceptualised by Dr. Dalip Kumar and developed and Designed by ACME Infosystem – an IT company in Mohali.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
