Chandigarh, 4 August, 2016: The
Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of State Justice & Empowerment,
Govt. of India, Paryavaran Bhawan, New Delhi has invited nominations for the National Awards
for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in 13 categories such as Best
Employees/Self employed with disabilities, Best Employers and Placement
Officer/Agency, Best Individual and institution working for the cause of
persons with disabilities, Role Model, Best applied Research/Innovation/Product
Development aimed at improving the life of persons with disabilities,
Outstanding work in creation of Barrier free Environment for the Persons with
disabilities, Best District in providing rehabilitation services, Best Local
Level Committee of National Trust, Best State Channelizing Agency of National
Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation, Best Creative Adult Persons
with disabilities, Best Creative Child with disabilities, Best Braille Press;
and Best Accessible website. Social
Welfare Department, UT, Chandigarh is also requesting Voluntary
Organizations/Government Departments to send nominations for consideration by
10.8.2016 at Town Hall Extension Building, Sector 17-C, Chandigarh. The
prescribed application form is available at Social Welfare Department and also
available at ministry website www.socialjustice.nic.in.
Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
