Allowance in the interest of public service and keeping in view the interest of allottees and citizens by CHB

September, 2016: In the interest of public service
and keeping in view the interest of allottees and citizens, and keeping in view
the delivery of service/s to the citizens, the Chandigarh Housing Board had
earlier allowed the allottees / occupants of its dwelling units in
rehabilitation colonies etc. to use a part of the area of their residence /
dwelling unit for the following commercial activities:-
i)
Mobile Repair Shops,
ii)
TV / Radio Repair
Shops,
iii)
Computer Centres,
iv)
Stationery Shops,
v)
Electric Shops.
The Barber Shops and Hair dressing establishments have not
been allowed, in order to have a uniform policy in consonance with the Estate
Office, UT, Chandigarh.
It has further been decided now to allow crèches /
aanganwadis in the CHB dwelling units upto a maximum of 50 sq.mtrs or 50% of
the covered area, which ever is more. The Creches and Aanganwadis may provide
baby–sitting or child-care facilities for infants and children. Only duly
qualified and authorized person(s) shall be allowed to run such a Creche or
Aanganwadi, who shall also notify in writing to the CHB as regards the premises
and the portion thereof to be used for the purpose of running a Crèche.
