Celebration of Teacher’s Day by Education Department

Chandigarh, 5th September, 2016: Teacher’s Day was celebrated by Education Department, Chandigarh Administration at Tagore Theatre today, Sh. Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest at the occasion. 11 teachers from various schools of Chandigarh were honoured with the State Award and six teachers were given the Commendation Certificate for their Commitment and dedication in the field of Education. National Awardees of 2015, Mrs. Seema Malhotra from GMSSS-19 and Mrs. Asatinder Kaur from GMHS-22 were also honoured on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Adviser congratulated the teachers and motivated them to continue with the good work and inspired them to teach, demonstrate, mould and be role models for the future of the Country.
The programme commenced with the Lamp lighting Ceremony followed by Ganesh Vandana represented through Kathak dance form presented by Mrs. Amrita Bhullar. A dance recital ‘Guru Mahima’ was performed by the Principal and teachers of GMSSS-33. Also present on the occasion were Sh. Sarvjit Singh, Finance and Education Secretary, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director School Education read out the Teacher’s Day message from the Hon’ble President, Sh. Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
