The Technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
(Drones) is capable of delivering Cadastral maps overlaid on the Digital Elevation Map
(tiff/jpg format) with minimum of ±2.5 cm accuracy, Orthomosaic 1:10000 (jpg/tiff format) and Digital
elevation maps for sectors 7.
The aim of
the 3D-GIS Mapping using Drones is to build a cost effective and efficient system in order
to map and measure each and every corner/dimension or the legacy data of every
property in UT Chandigarh. It will also help in gathering data using Drone
technology to generate high resolution 3D maps/imaginaries of Chandigarh. The 3D-GIS
Mapping using Drones
aims at change detection: Requirement of superimposing the already existed
cadastral maps of UT Chandigarh over the drone based 3D maps to study the
changes that have taken place over time like Building Violation or
encroachments. It will develop highly responsive Geographical Information
System where in a single click, the details of each and every property in the
UT Chandigarh can be retrieved.
