Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Organizes Socio Economic Medical Camps

Chandigarh, 10th September, 2016: The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Chandigarh Administration organized a socio- economic medical camp in association with the Senior Citizens Association at Government Model High School Dhanas Rehabilitation Colony today.

In this camp, various departments such as Health, Revenue, I.T. (Aadhar Registration) & Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development participated.  Both corporations i.e. Chandigarh Child & Women Development Corporation, Chandigarh Schedule Caste/ Backward Classes & Minorities Finance & Development Corporations along with various units of the Department of Social Welfare, WCD such as Women & Child helpline 181, State Resource centre for women, UT Child Protection Society and Purna Shakti Kendras displayed their schemes for the masses.

Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, the Advisor to Administrator was the chief guest on this occasion. He appreciated the efforts of the Department to organize these camps for the under privileged section of the society. Smt. Nishu Singal, Director Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Sh. I.P. Puri, President Senior Citizens Association and Major General M.S. Kandal were also present on this occasion.

More such camps will be organized on 11 September 2016 at GMSSS Manimajra, 18th September GMSSS 38 west Daddumajra & 25th September, 2016 at Regional Institute of Cooperative Management Sector 32 Chandigarh.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
